Numbers are important?

Yesterday, while I was teaching one of my new students numbers in Spanish, they asked why it is so important to know numbers. Of course I gave them a short response, but it made me think afterwards why numbers are so important to learn in any language. Numbers are essential because they help us understand, measure, and organize the world around us. In everyday life, we use numbers to tell time, manage money, follow recipes, and navigate distances. They allow us to compare quantities, track progress, and make decisions. Without numbers, it would be difficult to communicate basic concepts like age, temperature, or cost, all of which are crucial for when speaking a native or new language!
I do not think that learning numbers has to be boring so I have a couple of resources that I have included not only in my resources that are NOT mine, but also some that are! I hope this helps you this year with your students or if you are learning Spanish!
